Linocut block printing of 'skeins', in green and red colourways. I spent a wonderful afternoon sketching pictures of skeins of yarn, then took those sketches to the next stage of cutting a lino block. I like to glue my lino-cuts down to a block of mdf and make a proper stamp pad with them. The printing paper on these cards is hand-made, rather thick, and made of 100% cotton rag. For my latest green cards I pre-dyed the hand-made paper in ivy-leaf dye, so they are a lovely soft pale shade of green.
This card below is a slightly different colour-way, violet, burn red, and tangerine.
